"Ubiquitous Language"

The premise of domain-driven design is that the critical complexity of most big software projects is in the domain itself, and that complex domains are best tackled through modeling. But how do teams find such models? And not just find them, but share their understanding of those concepts, and build them into the very fabric of the software?

There are many principles and techniques, but they all depend on cultivating a particular relationship of model, code and language. This talk will discuss how domain experts and software experts interact to create a dynamic ubiquitous language.

Speaker

Eric Evans is the author of Domain-Driven Design, has spoken at OOPSLA and SD West and offers domain modeling and design services through Domain Language, Inc., which also sponsors domaindrivendesign.org, a forum for people interested in domain-driven design. Domain-Driven Design is now in its second printing.

Eric Evans recently posted several articles on the topic of design-driven programming that might be of interest to those planning to attend this lecture.
